The Eagle

この仮面は、私が１０年前にバンクーバーのダウンタウン、ロブソンストリートで買ったものです。

売った人は、これはワシの仮面で、ワシの一族の最初の男の人が誕生したことを象徴しているのだと教えてくれました。

ハイダ族は、ワシは力と、威信と、知恵、そしてフレンドシップのシンボルだと信じています。

Here is a mask that I bought on Robson Street in downtown Vancouver about 10 years ago.

The man whom I bought it from told me that this was an eagle mask and represented the birth of the first man of the eagle clan.

The Haida believe that the eagle is a symbol of power, prestige, wisdom and friendship.

Many students have asked if the art on the walls of Canadian Voice is African but it is actually First Nations art from the Northwest Coast of Canada. (British Columbia)

These 2 hand carved masks which are by the clock in my classroom are frogs.

The Frog is the voice of the people and a symbol of innocence, stability and communication. It is also considered to be good luck.
